KIERNAN
Joe Kiernan’s guitar work has made him a sought after guitarist in the Connecticut area and is enjoyed by those that hear him. His studies in classical, influence of blues, andl studies in jazz guitar have given Joe a distinctive sound and stylistic diversity, he is a masterful jazz improviser whose musical styles generally fall somewhere between tasteful blues and jazz lines that capture the attention of anyone listening. Joe’s Trio has played several venues including the Easton Jazz Festival, Bridgeport Jazz festival and The Newtown Arts Festival
Born and raised on Long Island, New York,Joe took up the guitar in middle school, and later joined the high school jazz band along with several high school blues and rock bands. Joe has a Bachelors in Music Education from The Crane School of Music and A Masters in Education from the University of Bridgeport. Currently, Joe is the Band and Strings teacher at Rowayton Elementary School.
